THE PROOF 3-8-09 SPENT $9 SAVED $70 at Walgreens

030809a-walgreens

In case you missed my post from this morning, I saved $90 and spent $0 out-of-pocket (used a gift card).

Well, a stomach bug has come to visit so we needed some Pedialyte and children’s Tylenol so it was off to Walgreens again….

I picked up

2 Glade lasting Impressions $7.99 each

-B1G1 Lasting Impressions printable

-$4.00 Walgreens Easy Saver Coupon (takes off $8)

2 Glade Sense and Spray $7.99 each
-B1G1 Sense & Spray printable

-$4.00 Walgreens Easy Saver Coupon (takes off $8.00)

2 CoffeeMate Creamers  Buy one at $2.49 Get one Free

-$1.50 printable

2 Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste $3.49 each

–  (2) $1.50 coupons

– $2.50 Walgreens Easy Saver Coupon (takes off $5)

2 Walgreens Children’s Non-Aspirin  Buy one $4.99 get one free

2 Walgreens Pediatric Electrolyte drink  2/$6

2 Jif Peanut Butter  2/$4

I used $11 in RR I got this morning, that made my total $9.06. I wish I could figure out how to reduce tax. :0)

The HUSBAND was right behind me and got

2 Huggies Diapers $10 each, spend $25 get $10 RR

– (2) $5.00 printable

1 Huggies Wipes $6 each, spend $25 get $10 RR

-(1) $5.00 printable

He spent $13.41 and got $10 in RR.  Good work HUSBAND.

So the total for today was – out of pocket about $22 and saved about $160 and netted $10 in RR.

It just takes a little planning.  I promise; it’s not that hard.

There is one thing I forgot to mention. With all these great Huggies deals going on you really need to read this post on Caregivers Marketplace.  I am going to mail in my reciepts and get back $.75 a package. That is $3.75 just from today!

I think you just answered my question, but to be sure. When I cashed in on my diaper deal I noticed a limit of one for the RR. Is that per transaction or visit? I have many more coupons to use!

It is per transaction. Some cashiers will let you do multiple transactions, some not so much. If I do want to do multiple transactions I try to go at a time that is not busy. And don't forget, if you use the 10RR you got on the previous diaper deal to pay for the next one the RR will not print. You will have to alternate RR deals or just save them all for one big trip.

Hi there – I am new to this whole walgreens thing and just want to make sure I have this right before I make my trip…there are 5 items I want to buy, and I have 10 coupons to use for those items, which means I would need 5 fillers, right? But say I use two walgreen ads coupons to count towards the fillers, then I would need to buy 7 fillers? Is that right? Thanks!!!

    Christina-
If I am reading this right you do need 7 fillers. You have to have at least as many items as you do coupons. If you need filler ideas the Orbit gum is a good one. There is a coupon in the Easy saver catalog that makes 3 packs only $.99. It gives you one coupon but 3 (or 6 or 9) items. Also I have used the Skintimate shave gel. It is $1.99 but you get a $1 RR back. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes!!

Some I have used this week- Orbit gum, there is a 3/$.99 coupon in the Easy Saver Catalog. That is one coupon and 3, or 6 or 9 items. That will help balance. Also, the skintimate shave gel. It is on sale for $1.99 but you get a $1 RR. Hope this helps. Let me know how the trip goes!

Thanks for answering my question. I guess I did pretty good…I am new to the drug store thing. I did the huggies deal, 2 packs of diapers and 1 pack of wipes, used 2 of the $5 and one of the $3. I bought the garnier frutisee (sp) shampoo, conditioner, hair spray and mousse, all $2.99. I used the $2 walgreen q, ($8) and 4 of the manf. $1 q. Then I got one pack of the noxzema bikini shavers, used the $2 walgreens q…2 of the tuf paper towels, and then 4 easter treat bags (there was hardly anything worth getting on clearance). My total OOP was $18.40, and then I got the $10 RR. So far that's three times I have used the diaper deal and I plan on doing it two more times.

I was irritated that they were out of the glade sense and spray but I got a rain check 🙂
