The Proof: Saved 99% at Target

target-logoOur dog needed food and I decided today that since none of the humans get to have brand loyalty, neither should our dog.

Lucky for me there is a great dog food deal going on at Target this week.

Purina Chef Michael’s 24 oz. bags of dog food are regularly sale priced at $4.26 this week.   Use the $3.50/1 manufacturer’s coupon here (you fill out a short survey, then you can print the coupon twice) stack it with the $1.50/1 Target coupon here and you get free dog food plus a $.74 overage!

My transaction looked like this:

2 bags Purina Chef Michael’s dog food-$4.26 each
-2 $3.50/1 manufacturer’s coupon
-2 $1.50/1 Target coupons
2 packages Bic pens-$1 each
$1/2 Target coupon
-$1/2 coupons.com coupon
Kashi Waffles$1.99
$.25 Target coupon
-$1/1 peelie from Kashi cereal
2 packages stickers on clearance (to take up overage)-$.44 each

My total before tax was $0.14, I saved $13.41 or approximately 99%.

You could also take advantage of the $5 gift card promotion Target is running on the same dog food. You could buy 2 of the larger $10 bags of Chef Micheal’s dog food, use 2 of the $3.50/1 coupons and 2 of the $1.50/1 coupons. You would spend $10 plus tax out of pocket and get a $5 Target gift card back. Net that is 2 large bags of dog food for $5!

I went to Target next to West Town Mall yesterday and got the 2 larger bags of the Chef Micheal's dog food and tried to use both the Target coupon and the manufacture coupon and the register clerk said I couldn't do that. I tried to explain it to her,but she still refused. So I politely said thank you and went directly to Customer Service and the nice lady there gave me three dollars back for my coupons.

  2. Lucky for you that you can do that!! Our dog gets sick if we feed her something out of her usual food!!
