Box Tops For Education-Do You Participate?

boxtops-logoAs we have been eating through our cereal stash I have noticed a lot of boxes with extra Box Tops for Education tokens on them.

I checked out their website, while I am not interested in shopping through it I don’t think clipping the box tops and turning them in to a school would be too difficult. I also will not buy products just because they have the Boxtops for Education but,  if they are on sale and it will  help a school earn money for supplies I think clipping them would be worth it.

I am curious to know does anyone participate in this program? I would like to hear if you find it worthwhile or not. If you remember to clip or turn in the boxtops.

My sons are not in school yet so I am not sure where I would send them, but if it is worth the time and valuable to local schools I am sure I could find a place.

  1. I used to be a boxtop coordinator at Norwood Elementary. This incentive program IS the BEST out there. They send the schools a check twice a year.

PLEASE PLEASE everyone take two secs and cut these off your packages and give them to any local school…Of course it will make an even bigger difference to the schools that are TitleI status (Which means 60% of the schools are poverty)

If you really want to be nice, give them to a neighbor's kid or a friend's kid. A lot ot PTSO's offer the children incentives for bringing them in.

It is also very worth it to save the Tyson chicken 123 labels. worth .24 each. The Campbell's soup labels aren't as worth. They are worth only shopping from a catalog and 1 label seems to be only worth about a penny.

  2. Yes, Box Tops are great . 10 cents each – Maryville Christian School collects them and I just counted 2500 collected last week (collected all summer) – the school will get $250 for it. We do 5 collection dates a year, but if anyone wants to send them to the school, send them anytime! Address is 2525 Morganton Rd. – 37801 – thank you!!! Thanks, Katie for all you do!!!

  3. I know our schools consider box tops like “free money” – so yes by all means, cut them and stick them in an envelope. If you don't know a school age child, just drop them off at the front desk at any elementary school – mine is Cedar Bluff Elementary – easy to get to, easy to drop off – won't take you more than 5 minutes and will really benefit the school.
