Dave Ramsey: $999 Emergency Fund Giveaway

daveTHE HUSBAND loves Dave Ramsey. We have the books, we have read the books, we have been through the classes. I was not on board at first but,  a few months of sticking to the budget, only using cash and have a $1000 emergency fund in place started us on the path to being financial responsible and down right frugal.

You can imagine how excited he was to hear the Dave Ramsey is giving away a $999 emergency fund to one person a day until 9/18/09. All you have to do is go here and enter. Winners will be announced on Dave’s radio show (2pm-6pm on WETR 760 AM locally) and contacted by phone.

Good Luck!

  1. My husband and I had to move to a new city in Tennessee to be closer to our jobs. We both were driving over an hour to get to our new employment as teachers (better pay). When we accepted the positions our daughter was three and a new son was almost a year old. We thought it would be temporary, but ended up driving this for two years. We finally found a home there and purchased the home with the other one on the market. It's been two years and it's STILL on the market and we continue to pay two mortgages, double bills etc. Luckily, we are doing this with very little balance on one credit card and still managing to save. I wonder sometimes how we do it and some months it is a struggle, but God has made it work for us so far. The home has over 70 acres with it and it's hard to sell. We have had at least 5 interested so much but to find out that they cannot get a loan from the banks. I do hope the market improves!
I teach math at a high school near Knoxville and we have incorporated Personal Finance into our curriculum for Algebra 1. My students love watching your videos and really enjoy this side of mathematics. You make it easy, real and valuable to them. Thank you Dave!!!
