Target Coupon Policy- Again

target-logoThere have been a lot of comments and questions lately about coupons at Target.

Specifically:

  • Can they adjust coupons down? (example- if something is priced at $.99 can you use a $1 coupon?
  • Can cashiers push through coupons that beep?
  • Can you stack Target coupons and Manufacturer coupons?

I emailed Target today and again got the same response I got in May.

Yes, they can adjust coupons down and Yes you can stack coupons. I am still waiting on a specific answer on the beeping coupons but I’ll keep you posted.  If you have recently had problems I suggest printing the Target coupon policy out and taking it with you on your next trip.

  1. I went to the Target near West Town Mall today and used several coupons. Some of them did beep and the screen stated it was unusable, but the cashier did push it threw. It was a valid coupon and I complied with all the rules on the coupon. Not sure why the machine wouldn't take it, but the nice lady pushed it threw for me anyway. I guess it depends on the cashier because I have been there before and tried to stack coupons and the cashier wouldn't have it. Instead I went to customer service and they refunded me what my coupons where worth.

  2. I have gone to 5 or 6 different cashiers at TC. I have had no problems with them pushing them through and the only hard time I had was when I tried to buy 5 cups of the cereal free, one lady did it but gave me the “its supposed to be one per transaction” speech. Other than that I have not noticed a difference from the pre computer adjustment era.

  3. Target out East told me Saturday that you cannot use multiple same coupons. For example, I had 4 $1/1 off GMills cereal. I could only use 1. They have stopped the duplicates. I think this only applies to printed off coupons. Hope this helps.
