CVS The Proof: Spent $2.46, Saved $35.99

We spent the morning at the zoo but on our way we had to stop and get diapers.  The trip turned out even better than I had planned due to some great coupons that printed when I scanned my CVS card at the red machine just inside the door.

Huggies Supreme 26ct-$.899
-$2 Huggies printable (no longer available)
-$2 CVS Huggies coupon (printed from machine)
Huggies Wipes (72ct)- $3.49
-$1 Huggies Wipes coupon from mailer
-$2 CVS Huggies Wipes (printed from machine)
2 Schick Quattro razor cartridges- $10.49, Buy One Get One Free
-$4/1 from 8/23 SS
-$10 ECB from last trip
-$1.50 ECB (printed from machine)
Final cost=$2.46 ($0.74 before tax!)

According to my receipt with sales and coupons I saved $35.99. Now if I did not have these deals I would have purchased these items somewhere else but it is encouraging to look at.

For the more seasoned couponers you may be asking “Why did you not get items that would earn ECBs? Why did you not increase your ECBs or at least get some stuff for free?  Good questions.

The simple answer is I didn’t have the time or energy to plan the trip that way.  This week is a busy week for us so I just grabbed the best deals I could with the easiest trip. This is not the best way to maximize your savings but some weeks it is the best way to maximize your sanity!
