Kroger: I LOVE the New Fountain City Kroger, Saved $90.16

krogerlogoThe new Kroger store in Fountain City opened today. I loaded up the boys and went. Wow, was it busy! There were police officers directing traffic, I had to wait for a parking spot and much to the boys disappointment all the “car carts” were taken.

Even with all of that I LOVE the new store.  It is bright, clean and the selection is outstanding. The produce, deli, bakery and natural food areas were my favorite. They are much bigger than the old store and the fresh baked breads looked yummy.

Free samples were everywhere! We didn’t even need lunch when we got home. The store was very well staffed, even with all the people there I only had one person in line in front of me.

It will take me a while to learn the new layout- even though they were passing out directories! I also told THE HUSBAND that it will be hard to stay on my budget while shopping there- everything looked so good! Speaking of budget, on to the best deals I got.

If you still need to plan your trip I would suggest checking out Southern Savers Kroger match-up. Jenny always does a great job.

I was recently at Kroger as well and saved 54% with the help of coupons and in store deals. I love Kroger!

  2. I stopped by after work; I've not seen a nicer store in a long while! I did 2 sets of the Buy 10 Get 5 but I got sucked in by the deals on meat. $1.29/lb spareribs and Tyson chicken tenderloin packages for only $1.49?? Uh, score! I spent $35 but saved 68% overall.

Oh my! I had a great time at Kroger, I saved 75% off my total! I stuck mainly to my list and only bought my frozen sausage patties w/o MSG b/c they were $1 off. But, I had some surprise Catalina's print off for me. I purchased 6 boxes of Ghiradelli brownies and received 3-$1.00 of coupons for my next grocery purchase! Then, I purchased 4 of the refridgerated Pillsbury Simply peanut butter cokies using 4 of the $1.25 off coupons AND received one $2.00 off catalina for my next grocery purchase. This is my best deal ever!

I had the best Kroger trip I've ever had! $237.00 for $33.00! My receipt showed 91% saved! It would have been $63.00 but I had a $4.00 prescription that gave me a $30.00 credit for free groceries! I wish they hadn't closed the Halls Krogers. I knew where everything was! This store is huge! I can't imagine a Sushi bar being successful! Who knows? Met the Asst. Manager Greg Gaylor. Super nice guy!
