My Kroger Trip-Saved 53%

It is 9:30 am, we are home from Kroger, all the items are scanned and put away- I am pretty sure I will take a nap today.

I tried to start stocking up on things I would need for holiday meals and parties. This is a good week for that at Kroger and if I start now it does not feel so overwhelming. Here are my favorite deals:

Oscar Mayer Lunchmeat- $2.14 on sale Buy One Get One Free

I bought a lot of other produce that was not on sale, several protein bars (for THE HUSBAND), OJ and some beef and chicken. (I did not buy enough chicken last week when it was on sale but I am making a new chicken and dumpling recipe for a family at church so I had to buy some. I will let you know how the new recipe goes. )

Total I spent $66.00. I saved $68.11 or 53%. I tried to pace myself on the Mega Event Sale as they are usually around for two weeks. Plus they were out of a few of the free items. There were no Colgate or Reach $1 toothbrushes to be found.  So, while the percentage of savings is not wildly high I am happy with the total I have spent this week-$66.

What about you? How did you do this week?

  1. Woo Hoo! I got some awesome deals last night free cream of mushroom for my green bean casserole! .75 cents gravy free can tomatoes .49 cent broth! My total bill was $34.81. I saved $35.47!! Now all I need to do is make room in the pantry and make another trip! Thanks 🙂

  2. My receipt says I saved 62%. I bought 20 items on the mega sale and had about 5 items that I didn’t have coupons for (husband called while I was there asking for things). I had 3 items that I had ECoupons on and my Kroger still is allowing a manufacturer coupon to be added to ECoupon. I don’t think they realize it. I got mushroom soup, toothpaste and toothbrush all free. I also bought the Blue Diamond milk for 89 cents with ecoupon and coupon in the store. I haven’t tried it yet. I spent $17,84 total. If I hadn’t had to buy the extras for my husband, it would have been less than $13.00.
