My CVS Trip, Saving Over Time

I went to CVS this morning becasue I had $8 in Extra Care Bucks (ECB) that expired today. Between life and fighting the overwhelming nausea and exhaustion of pregnancy I just had not made time to go spend them.

Today I used them for this deal.

Complete Multi-Purpose Solution (12 oz)-$7.99, Get $7.99 ECB (Limit 1)
Final cost=Free after ECB

I paid with my $8 in ECBs and got $7.99 in ECBs back. (That is a picture of the “new ECB”. What do you think?)

I know this seems like a less than spectacular trip. There was really no planning involved, no lists, not even a coupon. But, THE HUSBAND and I both wear contacts so we use a lot of contact solution around here.  I just wanted to encourage you that over time even small trips like this can mean a lot of saving or extra room in your budget.

The way I look at it, after today’s trip I now have $8 in this month’s budget to spend on fresh produce or milk or other things I can rarely get free! So, I am happy.

By the way another fun thing I learned at CVS today, they sell stamps (at least mine does). I was so excited, that saved me a trip to the post office with all three of the boys.

Awesome!  My husband and I both wear contacts.  I have a $5 that needs to be used, may go put it towards that!

  3. Can you use ECB’s for stamps?

Congrats!!  I didn’t realize you were pregnant!

  5. No you cannot. I used mine for the contact solution and bought the stamps separately. I just really liked it saved me a stop.
