Menu Planning Monday 9/12/11

Many of you have asked about my menu plans for the week that I am going to attempt to start posting them. I hope this will give you some ideas and that you will share some of your ideas. It is so easy to get stuck in a dinner rut, am always open for suggestions.

Breakfasts

Oatmeal, fruit (x2)
Frozen homemade waffles & yogurt
Eggs & toast(x2)
Frozen homemade banana muffins
Cold cereal, fruit

Lunch

I think this is always the hardest, my boys would be happy with peanut butter and jelly every day!

Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, fruit
Spagettios with turkey dogs
Pita chips, carrots, grapes and hummus
Leftovers
Egg sandwich, yougurt, fruit

Dinner

Mon-Pasta with roasted vegetables and bacon ( new recipe from Martha Stewart Living this month. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Tue- Chick-fil-A. We have coupons and the boys have soccer from 5-7:30.

Wed-Hamburgers, macaroni & cheese, applesauce

Thur-Grilled chicken, Spinach & berry salad, green beans

Fri-Chicken, sweet potato and cheese quesadillas. (these are from Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food and they are yummy.) Chips & salsa.

Sat- We will be celebrating one of the boy’s birthdays and they always get to pick dinner. So far it is tacos, breakfast bars and oranges.

  1. Please share how you reheat your frozen homemade waffles to make them palatable.  I have tried reheating leftover waffles before, both in the microwave and breaking them into segments and putting them in the toaster, but the texture is never the same as when they were first made.  Thank you!
