Coupon Katie Early Christmas Shopping Tips and Ideas

There are several advantages to early Christmas shopping- you can save money, avoid long lines, the items on your list are more likely to be in stock and you can avoid last minute gift stress and enjoy your time with family and friends.

Here are a few tips I shared tonight on WBIR’s 10 News at Five.

1. Set a Budget

If you are shopping early you have to start planning early. Decide how much  you can comfortably afford for Christmas gift giving. Make a list of each person you will be buying a gift for and assign a budget to each.

2. Shop Now

Stores are already making room for all their Christmas stock, keep an eye out for some great clearance finds.

3. Use Coupons!

There are already several great coupons out that will help you get started on Christmas shopping. For example Target  released 29 Printable Toy Coupons

Simon Flash Game-on sale $19.99
$5/1 Simon Flash Game Target store coupon
stack with $5/1 Simon Flash manufacturer coupon

Bath and Body Works $10 off $30 coupon

A.C. Moore Coupons40% Off One Regular Priced Item  and 55% Off Custom Framing + $10 Off Total Order

Jo-Ann Fabrics25% off Entire Purchase (Nov.4-6)

4. Price Match

Shopping early will allow you to take advantage of price matching on specific items on your list. Find the best advertised deals for the week then price match them at Walmart or Target. This saves you time, money and gas.

5. Use Daily Deal Sites

There are several to choose from- Deal Chicken, Groupon , Living Social, Plum District, FlutterToday, Half Off Depot– just to name a few..

Keep an eye out for deals on websites that offer toys, beauty products, clothing and more. You will need time for the gifts you order to ship so start paying attention now. Gift vouchers to favorite restaurants or for family outings are  great gift ideas.

I went to Target today to price match a DVD and they said that they no longer price matched.  I noticed that their price matching signs at customer service were gone so maybe the policy has changed.
