Homemade Christmas Craft Update-Scarves are Done!

As promised I thought I would give you all an update on the Homemade Christmas Gift Experiment that we are doing this year.

So far we have finished all four of the no-knit scarves we wanted to make! It was actually really fun.  The boys had fun picking out what yarn they thought the girls would like. They then helped with all the measuring and cutting.

Things got a little more complicated when we actually started tying the knots, but I am happy to report they all turned out looking like scarves, even if one or two is slightly lopsided.

I forgot to take a picture before I wrapped all four of them so this picture is of the one I made for our youngest son. The first scarf  we made was super soft and pink. And well, he attached to it, very strongly. He wanted to wear it around the house all day. I tried convincing THE HUSBAND that real men can wear pink but he was not swayed. So, I made a soft brown one and wrapped the pink one for my niece. :0)

  1. Love crafting for Christmas!

  2. I love your idea for a whole lot of reasons, but the main one is the fun you and your children shared and the chance for them to experience how much joy there can be in making a gift and giving it.
