That is the date for this years Knox County Library’s Children’s Festival of Reading From 10 am-3:00pm World’s Fair Park will come alive with world-class children’s book authors and illustrators, storytellers, musicians, and all manner of crazy fun! It’s the kickoff celebration to a summer of reading.

Our family has always had so much fun at the Festival. There is so much for them to do and see.

This year there is also a huge line up of acclaimed children’s authors and illustrators that will be there.

Jennifer Holm and Matthew Holm make up the brother-sister team who created Babymouse

Alyssa Capucilli  the award-winning author of over 75 books including Biscuit

Dan Yaccarino not only known for his well-loved children’s books, but also for the Parent’s Choice Award-winning animated TV series Oswald, for the Emmy Award-winning show Willa’s Wild Life, and for the Backyardigans character designs.

And many more!

This is a great free fun family event! Have you been in years past? What did you think?

  1. We go every year and we enjoy it! Frugal tip: take a lunch or snack (food smells delicious there, but it’s really expensive). And if your kids like the bouncy houses, wear sandles or slip ons or you will spend a lot of time looking for socks, putting socks and shoes on and off….you get the idea:)
