I just had a minute to stop by Target yesterday to confirm one deal for this morning. I thought I would share what I bought while there to show Target newbies how great coupon stacking is at Target and how to use gift card deals to maximize savings.

Total=$7.93
-$5 Target gift card from a previous week’s deal

**Note if I had more time, less kids with me and there were not five people in line behind me I would have broken up this transaction a little differently.   This is what it would have looked like

2 Playtex Gentle Glide Tampons (36 ct)-$6.99 each =Get a  $5 Target gift card
-2 $1/1 Playtex Tampons, 36 – 50 ct, TARGET coupon
stacked with 2 $3.00 off one (1) Playtex Gentle Glide Tampons

– $5 Target gift card from previous week’s deal
Out of Pocket=around $1
Got Back=$5 Target Gift card

Transaction #2

2 Reach Floss (55 yards)- $0.92 (Through 8/24)
-2 $1.00 off any (1) REACH Floss Product
Always (20ct) Thin Wrapped Unscented Liners-$0.94
-$1/1 Always Pads or Always Pantiliners Product coupon from the 7/7 PG (Exp. 7/31!)
Purell Hand Sanitizer (80z) + 2oz sample bottle-$2.08 (in back to school section)
-$1/1 from the 7/28 SS
stacked with $1/1 Purell TARGET coupon
2 Mead One Subject Notebooks
-$1/2 Mead any Mead product coupon (no longer available, I did not use the Mead Five Star coupons that are out b/c this in not part of their Five Star line)

My total would have been $1.08 plus tax and I would have used my gift card from Transaction #1 to get all this free. I would have spent a little more than $1 less out of pocket but in this case it was just not worth it.

I am happy with my $20.98 worth of products for $2.93 and a free $5 gift card!

  1. A few weeks ago at a Knoxville Target, the $1/1 coupon for the 20 count Stayfree liners was refused. The cashier had someone to come over to the register to tell me that it was refused because it exceeded the sale price. When I suggested that she adjust it downward, she remarked, “Well then you’d be getting it free!” My reply was that this was exactly what I had in mind so I left without it. Is this an option for the cashier?
