Tennessee Valley Fair Fun New Events & Great Music + Ticket Giveaway!

In September, the Tennessee Valley Fair is set to debut a wide variety of unique new attractions, contests and exhibits for East Tennesseans to enjoy. Many of the new attractions support the Fair’s 2013 theme “Fun on the Farm” which aims to showcase the unique role children play in the Fair each year.

  • Marvelous Mutts – A Canine Spectacular!
    Adventure Pathway – All 10 Days
    The Marvelous Mutts, A Canine Spectacular, is a thrilling dog sport entertainment show that showcases some of the world’s finest canine athletes. The dogs amaze audiences as they flip and fly to snatch flying discs out of the air, race through obstacle courses with breathtaking speed, and launch themselves off a dock to catch a toy before it splashes into a pool of water. Spectators, children and adults alike, always leave our shows with smiles on their faces.  For more info, visit:

  • Kiddie Land Fun Tent
    Kiddie Land (Next to Little Ponderosa Zoo) – All 10 Days
    Features free entertainment for children ages 2 – 12 years old. Enjoy our Thank-A-Farmer magic show, mascot parties, sing-a-longs, storytelling, live arts and crafts and much more. Full schedule of events available on on August 15.
  • Lego Extravaganza -Tournament of Champions
    Kerr Building – September 14 – 11:00 AM
    Our Lego Extravaganza has been a wildly popular new event at the Fair since its inception in 2011.  This year, we are inviting winners from our first competition on September 7 to return for a “Tournament of Champions” – Watch the best Lego builders in East Tennessee compete for the title of “Lego Extravaganza Champion 2013!”
  • Agventure Scavenger Hunt
    Livestock Barns – All 10 Days
    This interactive scavenger hunt is designed especially for children (2-12 years old) and allows them to experience agriculture like never before.  Participants will obtain a map that will lead them to specific ag-based educational exhibits (cattle, horticulture, poultry, tractors, rabbits, for example) around the fairgrounds.  When all stations are complete, participants will receive a special prize courtesy of Wendys Restaurants.
  • Color for the Cure
    Sunday, September 8: 3:00 – 5:00 PM
    Live coloring event just for kids! For every page that is colored, the Tennessee Valley Fair will make a contribution to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Knoxville Affiliate.  Plus, enjoy a mini-mascot party featuring Jasper the Rooster, B97.5’s Buzz Bee, Tennessee Smokies’ Slugger & Diamond, Wendy’s Frosty and more.
  • Tiny Tot Pageant
    Friday, September 6 – 5:30 PM
    Pepsi Community Tent
    The Tiny Tot pageant allows girls, (ages 4 to 6) to compete for a chance to win an excellent prize package.  The young lady who is crowned Miss Tiny Tot 2013 will receive a cash prize, a professional headshot package from Reflections and Images Photography, a crown, banner, trophy and flowers.  In addition to prizes, participants have the opportunity to develop poise, confidence and meet other little girls that share similar interests.   • “Best Of” Fair Food Competition
    Friday, September 6 – 4:30 PM

    Jacob Building – Culinary Arts Stage
    Watch as our concessionaires vie for the title of “Best Fair Food” – Celebrity Judges Frank Murphy from Star 102.1 FM and Katie Roach from WBIR Ch. 10 will judge the wacky culinary creations live.
  • Pinterest Interest Contest
    Kerr Building – Exhibit

    Enter your favorite Pinterest project in the Fair this year! Fun categories include: Best use of a Mason Jar, Sharpie Ceramics, Burlap Crafts, Fabulous Flip Flops & much more.  Download the contest description and entry form.

  • Doll Show – Make-A-Bear Contest

    Kerr Building – Exhibit
    Make a bear with new materials – all bears entered in this contest will be donated to patients at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. All ages contest. Download the contest description and entry form. Registration deadline is August 15.

There will also be some great music!

The 94th annual Tennessee Valley Fair runs September 6-15.
