BOO! at the Zoo presented by U.S. Cellular® is Knoxville’s largest Halloween event featuring 12 nights of safe and not-too-scary Halloween fun perfect for preschool and elementary-aged children. A Halloween tradition for 30 years, BOO! at the Zoo is a family event featuring trick-or-treating along the BOO! Trail, where little trick-or-treaters can fill their bag with goodies as they make their way through the zoo. Each night of BOO! at the Zoo will have a variety of entertainment including dancing with some of your favorite characters in the Chick-fil-A Monster Mash Tent, the Zoo Boo Choo Choo and the only “haunted” carousel in East Tennessee, the Scary-Go-Round. (How can you tell it’s haunted? It goes backwards, of course.)
We went last weekend and everyone had a great time, got tons of candy and were worn out from dancing by the time we left. We attend BOO! on Thursday night but this year we need to go on a Friday. Confession, I sort of freaked out when I saw how full the parking lot was. I mean we parked in the back of the Chilhowee parking lot. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT stress. There were shuttles and buses and once we got tickets everything went along smoothly! There was a large crowd but it was totally fun and lines kept moving well. The dancing and games were also super fun. Zoo Knoxville has been doing this for 30 years and it shows. They have it all figured out. Do not be like me and get stressed over the crowd. 🙂
