Today’s Target Trip: When Things Don’t Go As Planned

I thought I would share my Target trip this morning to encourage all of you new couponers. Sometimes even good planning does not help you avoid a somewhat frustrating and confusing trip. That was me this morning. I will blame some of it on baby brain, some on having all three of the boys with me and some on Target, that should make me feel better.

Here are the deals I ended up getting:

Aquafresh Kids 4.6 oz Pump $1.62 (Regular Price)

Here are the deals I had planned to get but did not work out:

Schick Hydro Razor 3-Blade $6.99
-$5/1 coupon from the 5/9 SS
-$1/1 Target store coupon from here
Final cost =$.99  ( My Target was out of these. Boo.)

Kraft 100 Calorie Pack Cheese Cubes-$2.49 ea
Buy 2
-2 $1/1 coupons from the 5/16 SS or from here
-$1.50/2 Target store coupon from here
Final cost=$0.74 ea  (My Target did not have any of these.  They are new so I am guessing they are just not carrying them yet.)

I also had Target Store Coupon good for $1.50/1 Cottonelle and a $.50/1 Cottonelle manufacturers coupon from here that I wanted to use on smaller pacages to get them cheap. The cheapest package at my Target was $11.99. Convinced we only had one roll left at home I bought it anyway, only to discover when I got home the huge 24 roll pack I had purchased at Kroger this week. Baby brain.

Throw in some coffee for THE HUSBAND, some gas drops for #3 and bugs from the dollar section that were 50% off for the other two and that was my trip.

Check out was a whole other ordeal. None of my free coupons seemed to be ringing up correctly. My cashier was very nice but, by the time we took things off, priced checked things, tried coupons a few times etc even I was confused. Looking at my reciept I am still not sure exactly what happened. In the end I spent $27.14 and saved $24.40. Not too bad but I have this nagging feeling it could have been better….

well, funny you say that because today I also went to buy the kids aquafresh, gave them $1 man. coup. and .50 target web coup. They would not take any of my man. coup…they said they have a new policy and would not take them…weird.
