Let The Scanning Begin

So my National Consumer Panel home scanner arrived yesterday. It sort of reminds me of a cell phone from the early 90’s.  I still need to take some time to read the manual but I am excited to give it a try.  I will let you know if I think it is too time consuming or if I find it to be worth the effort.

For those of you new to  Coupon Katie and have no idea what I am talking about: The National Consumer Panel is free to join and once you are accepted you get a small hand held scanner to scan all the items you purchase. Once a week you transmit that information to National Consumer Panel and earn points for items from their Gift Catalog. Manufacturers and retailers  look at the information you send to them to decide what products to make and sell to consumers all across the country.

If you are interested you can apply to be a member of National Consumer Panel here.

  1. I received mine today. Originally, they sent me the wrong scanner (I do not have a home phone), and I had to send it back, then request the 90s cell phone router version. I’m in the same boat as you about whether it’ll be worth my time and effort. I’ll keep you posted…

  2. I got my scanner today! Can’t wait to see how this works out!

Just found your blog. Was wondering how you transmit your purchases from the scanner to the company. We live in a very Rural area and our internet connection is very slow. Thanks.
