Children's Festival of Reading-Free Event 5/21/11

I love the Knox County Library’s Children’s Festival of Reading! If you can you will definitely want to attend!

Favorite stories will jump off the page as the Festival—on May 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 pm. in World’s Fair Park in downtown Knoxville—welcomes pop-up artist extraordinaire Robert Sabuda, one of today’s most innovative and inventive children’s book creators and many other acclaimed authors. The whole region is invited to meet great authors, sit in on thrilling stories and get toes tappin’ with songs from around the world. The fun continues all day long with a mad scientist, a roaming circus, arts & crafts, a bouncy house, and a wagon ride. It’s the most exciting way to gear up for a summer of reading!

We have taken the boys the last few years and they always have a blast.

This year you will be able to see:

Robert Sabuda – an author and illustrator who has received wide-ranging acclaim as one of the foremost designers of interactive “pop-up” books.

Grace Lin -an award-winning author and illustrator of The Year of the Dog and The Year of the Rat.

Patricia McKissack-the author of many highly acclaimed books for children, including Goin’ Someplace Special.
