My First Trip To Walgreens In A While

We were out of milk and toilet paper. Two things this family really cannot do without.

So I loaded up all three of the kiddos and headed to Walgreens to try the Cottonelle Deal.

Confession- it was sort of a game time decision and I did not have any RR to use because I have not shopped at Walgreens in several months.  All that to say I did not have a grand plan in place. Here is what I did:

Transaction #1
Gillette Fusion Proglide-$9.89, Get $5 RR
– $5/1 coupon from Have You Tried this Yet home mailer
Out of Pocket=$5.80 (this includes $.91 tax)
Got Back=$5 RR

Transaction #2
Cottonelle Toilet paper (12 ct)-$5 each, Buy 2 Get $3 RR
-2 $0.50/1 Cottonelle Bath Tissue (IE) Printable (FF) or $.50/1 Cottonelle printable here
-$1/1 Walgreens coupon from the Walgreens May coupon booklet (deducted $2)

Clearance Easter Candy-$.10 (this was a filler item-to make the number of items and manufacturer coupons in my order be equal. Remember, RR count as a manufacturer coupon)
-$5 Register Reward from transaction #1
Out Of Pocket=$3.13 (includes $.99 in tax)
Got Back=$3 RR

Trip Totals
Product Value=$19.99
Out Of Pocket=$8.93 ($1.90 of which was tax)
Register Rewards left=$3 RR
Final cost=$5.93 after coupons and RR

Not too bad for a razor for THE HUSBAND and 24 rolls of Cottonelle. We got the milk at Weigels, in case you were wondering.

This week was my first time shopping at Walgreens. I’ve always been discouraged by the coupon-item coupon ratio deal (just too much for me to manage with the kids in tow) because I’m afraid I’ll mess up and end up spending too much money. Anyway, I went with a clear plan to buy Noxema razors, Gillette razors, Bic razors, cottonelle toilet paper, and the right guard total defense body wash. I ended up with:
    3 noxema razors
    2 gillette fusion razors
1 bic hybrid 6 count for men razor
    1 bic soleil razor
    4 packs of cottonelle.
Total OOP (including tax): 39.63 (only rolled $4 worth of RR becuase I’m still learning)
    RR remaining: $25

    Thanks for the shopping tips!
