MoviePass: Watch All The Latest Movies In the Theater for Just $9.95/month!?

DO YOU ALREADY HAVE MOVIEPASS?  If so, please leave a comment and share your experience. If not, read on friend. Read on.

Last week when chatting with a friend she casually mentioned going to see The Greatest Showman with her MoviePass. She said it like, being Coupon Katie, I obviously knew what she was talking about. I did not. 🙂

She proceed to explain to me this subscription program that is just 10 bucks a month and gets you access to one movie of your choice per day at participating theaters. Every day if you want.

What?! That sounds too good to be true. How is that even a thing?

But it is. I did a lot of research and started asking a lot of friends in the frugal happenings world.

It really is only $9.95 per month no commitment, and there are no blackout dates. As a MoviePass member, you can see up to one standard 2D film per calendar day.

THE HUSBAND loves seeing movies in the theater so he is thrilled with this.

How to get your MoviePass

1. Head MoviePass.com and type in your zipcode to see if there are theaters in your area that accept the MoviePass cards. (There are over 4,000 theaters currently accepting the cards. )

For local readers, when I put in my zip here hare the theaters that showed up:
Regal Knoxville Center Stadium 10
Halls Cinema
Carmike 10 Knoxville
Regal Riviera Stadium 8
Regal West Town Stadium 9
Regal Downtown West Cinema 8
Carmike Wynnsong 16 Knoxville
Carmike Movies 7
Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18 & IMAX

2. If there are theaters close to you, sign up for the MoviePass subscription. It’s $9.95 per month.

3. Your MoviePass cards will arrive in the mail within 8-10 business days. Your account will be charged when you purchase the subscription, but your subscription dates will be adjusted to reflect the date you actually activate your card (you won’t be paying for a subscription for the 8-10 days while you wait for your card to arrive).

4. Once your card arrives, download the MoviePass app to your phone and connect it to your MoviePass card. (Sign in with MoviePass login info and typing in the last 4 digits of your card.)

5. Browse theaters and showtimes on your MoviePass App and start using your card to get in to a movie every single day if you wish.

Free Summer Reading Programs 2017

Summer is here and that means plenty of free time for my kiddos.  I love anything that will encourage them to keep reading this summer.  To that end, here are a few of the Summer Reading programs available this year.  There may be others, locally or nationally, that are out there and I would love to hear about them in the comments section!  I hope one of these will provide some motivation and fun for your family this summer.

Tennessee Smokies Summer Reading Program

If you live in East Tennessee this is a program that you will want to check out. The Tennessee Smokies Summer Reading Program is for Smokies fans 12-and-under.

There are five levels of participation that are to be completed by each child participating. To complete a level all your child has to do is read 10 books, 10 chapters, or have 10 books read to him/her (if your child is not reading yet). Once your child has completed his/her first level, bring the Level 1 reading program form to the ticket office at Smokies Park, and exchange it for prizes and free tickets to a Smokies game. We did this last summer and it was great!  There are several levels you can reach, get all the details here.

And don’t forget they also offer the Straight A program-

Straight A Program

If your child has earned the equivalent of an “A” average or attained perfect attendance for the year, they will get to go to a Smokies game for FREE! Bring their report card and/or perfect attendance certificate to the Smokies Ticket Office and you can receive a free Bleacher Level ticket. The program is valid for students in K-12 and can only be redeemed once per child.

Summer Library Club is a fun way to help children maintain and improve reading skills through the summer break, but it’s not just for kids! Read together as a family and receive an awesome rewards package or prize. Prizes and requirements vary by age group.

Kids Bowl Free All Summer- Registration Now Open!

We were at a bowling birthday party last night (So much fun!) and it reminded me that Kids Bowl Free registration is open and that our lanes actually start their program on April 1! Children whose age does not exceed a limit by a participating bowling center are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long, courtesy of the participating bowling centers along with the schools and organizations. Age limit varies by location, it is 15 at our location.

If you’re interested, then follow these simple instructions to sign up:

Register your children online
Select a participating bowling alley (there are 3 in the Knoxville area!)

At the beginning of each week, you’ll receive tickets that your children can use to bowl, for free!  Note that you will  have to pay for shoe rental, or you could find a cheap pair on ebay!
