Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all the laundry tips and encouragement you shared.  Seriously, with five kids, laundry is a whole THING.

At the suggestion of a few people I ordered these little babies:

SimpleHouseware Mesh Pop-Up Laundry Hamper Basket With Side Pocket. Four of them.

Each boy has one next to their bed or in their bathroom.   I wash clothes one basket at a time, so one kid at a time.  Colors and whites together, on cold.  Simplicity was the goal here friends.

It So much faster and less chaotic.  There is no sorting. There are not 27 piles of clothes that are loaded into a basket and carried down stairs only to be rifled through and need folding and sorting again.

I have not gotten fancy and assigned a day to each child. They just bring their baskets when I ask. When they see their basket at the top of the stairs full of folded clothes they take them downstairs and but them away. I have no idea why I didn’t do this earlier.

I love the idea of the older kiddos doing their own laundry but we’re not quite there yet. Baby steps.  🙂

My next goal is to start organizing all my closets. I cannot handle how crazy some of them are. So, bathroom closet, laundry room shelf, toy closet organization ideas are welcome right now. And, before anyone asks, no I am most definitely not nesting. 🙂  With how busy life is I am just feeling the need to clear out clutter and streamline our home.

How I Got Transfer Stains Out of My Beloved White Jeans for $2

I have a new pair of white jeans that I love.

Not paying attention I washed those white jeans with regular jeans.  I still didn’t pay attention when I threw them in the dryer.  But then, I paid attention and almost cried. My new white jeans had blue streaks All Over Them.   I was sad over being careless, missing my jeans and not wanting to pay for another pair. 🙂

I panicked slightly, asked for help , and got lots of great suggestions and tips.  In my research I also learned that you should not us bleach, at least on all over stains,  unless the fabric is 100% cotton.  My jeans ware not and bleach can cause other fabrics to yellow.  Because the dye was all over I went with Carbona Color Run Remover.

I also bought some Rit Color Remover just in case this did not work!

I filled my kitchen sink and soaked the jeans in cold water and Carbona. The directions called for one to three minutes, I soaked for 7 just for good measure. (I have not idea if this is wise or not, but I really wanted the blue streaks out of my jeans.)

I then washed them ALONE in cold water.  I am happy to report that it totally worked! My white jeans are as good as new!

A few other popular suggestions were to soak over night in Oxi-Clean or Oxi-Clean and vinegar, Fels Naptha bar and Grandma’s Secret Stain remover from JoAnn’s.
