Zoo Knoxville celebrates Mother’s Day with free admission for all moms on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Guests can celebrate with new parents Puzzle and Swiss, African painted dogs who debuted their litter of 5 puppies in April. Visitors can also explore the all new Gibbon Trails and Langur Landing and take a break to cool off with some water play at the Clayton Safari Splash, which will open for the season on Sunday.

“Bringing families together to enjoy a day at the zoo that they will always remember is very important to us,” said Lisa New, President and CEO of Zoo Knoxville. “Mother’s Day is a perfect time to celebrate family and why we wanted to treat moms to a day at the zoo.”

Zoo Knoxville Offers $2 Off Admission March 12-16, 2018

To celebrate Spring Break, Zoo Knoxville is offering $2 off general admission tickets Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 16, 2018.

Zoo Knoxville’s new Gibbon Trails and Langur Landing in Boyd Family Asian Trek, a $6 million multi-acre habitat for white-handed gibbons and silvered leaf langurs, immerses guests in a 360 degree aerial experience. The habitats are designed with multiple viewing levels that allow the primates to pass directly over the heads of visitors or be eye-to- eye with them in a 60-foot- tall treehouse accessible by a suspension bridge. The new expansion also allows soaring views of Tiger Forest and incorporates a new outdoor training demonstration area for Malayan tigers.

Gibbon Trails is home to one of the zoo’s most beloved residents, Georgie, and his new companion Naomi. Langur Landing is home to Walter, Teagan, Melody and two-month-old baby Opie, a family of silvered leaf langurs that are a new
species to Zoo Knoxville. The zoo also has a full schedule of special Bird Show sessions and animal encounters with zoo staff for the week, weather permitting. Popular zoo activities such as giraffe feeding, camel rides, the Zoo Choo Train and the Fuzzy-Go- Round carousel will also be open.

Discounted tickets may be purchased at the zoo’s ticket window during regular zoo hours.

Zoo Knoxville $5 Off Admission Now Through Feb 28, 2018

Zoo Knoxville is offering $5 off admission tickets during Kroger Discount Days, December 1 through February 28, 2018.

During Kroger Discount Days, guests can discover why winter is an enjoyable time to visit the zoo. Many animals, including red pandas, river otters, elephants, gorillas, red wolves, lions and tigers, enjoy the cooler
temperatures. On days when the temperature drops below 40 degrees, some animals will be moved indoors, but visitors can still see many in their indoor viewing areas.

The Pilot Flying J Wee Play Adventure is a popular indoor area that’s an entertaining stop for creative play during visits as well.A December trip to the zoo may even include a visit to Santa’s Village, a special holiday encounter and photo opportunity with Santa Claus. Santa’s Village will be open for holiday photos and Christmas wishes December
14 through 17, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day in the heated Kids Cove tent.

Discounted tickets can be purchased at the zoo ticket window during regular zoo hours and online at
zooknoxville.org. Discounted admission tickets must be used by Feb. 28, 2018, and cannot be combined with

Spider-Man and Captain America Coming to Zoo Knoxville This Saturday

Marvel Comics favorites Spider-Man and Captain America are coming to Zoo Knoxville for a special appearance at Superhero Saturday presented by Advance Financial Foundation this Saturday, June 17, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Fans of all ages are invited to come by for a personal introduction and to pose for photos with Spider-Man and Captain America. Other special activities include the “Superhero Boot Camp”, where little good guys can learn how to use their own super powers for heroic feats.

Superhero Saturday featuring Captain America and Spider-Man is included with paid zoo admission.

Zoo Knoxville: $5 Off Admission for Knox, Anderson, Union, Grainger, Jefferson, Sevier, Blount, Loudon and Roane County Residents (June 5-8)

To kick off summer, Zoo Knoxville is offering residents of nine local counties $5 off general zoo admission Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, 2017. Residents of Knox, Anderson, Union, Grainger, Jefferson, Sevier, Blount, Loudon and Roane counties are eligible for discounted admission.

The zoo is offering this discount to encourage locals to visit on a weekday before peak tourist season. “We have had a lot of interest from our local residents about all the exciting new things happening at Zoo Knoxville. We hope by offering discounted admission on days when our crowds are lighter it will encourage an early summer ‘day-vacation’ so they can experience it for themselves. Residents of Knox and our neighboring counties are great zoo supporters and our best zoo ambassadors for tourists visiting our area, and we appreciate them.”

We finally made it to the Tiger Forest at Asian Trek exhibit last week and it is fantastic! The zoo also has a full schedule of encounters with animal ambassadors and talks by animal caretakers, camel rides and the Clayton Safari Splash water play area available daily.

Zoo Knoxville Star Wars Character Day This Saturday 3/1/8/17

 

If you have Star Wars fans this is a great way to wrap up Spring Break!

Meet your favorite “Star Wars” characters without making a trip to a galaxy far, far away! On Saturday, March 18, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Star Wars characters will be meeting fans and posing for photos at Zoo Knoxville.

The day will also feature a Jedi Training Camp that includes light saber training and special instructions on how to use The Force, allowing each child to leave a certified Jedi knight.

Visitors are encouraged to wear their own “Star Wars” attire to celebrate the occasion. Children ages 12 and under who come dressed as their favorite Star Wars character will receive $5 off a child’s admission. (Star Wars Character Day discount cannot be combined with any other discount or offer.) The opportunity to meet “Star Wars” characters is included with general zoo admission.

Zoo Knoxville will bring the big screen to life with help from the MidSouth Garrison of the 501st Legion, the preferred costuming organization of Lucasfilm Ltd., producer of the “Star Wars” film series. This special zoo event is presented by Food City.
